I'm finally sharing some photos of our trip to Cappadocia. I've been living in Turkey for almost 6 years now, and Cappadocia has always been on my list of places to visit. It's quite the trek to get there and the timing was never right. Finally, my sister was here and Sienna was on winter break, so we went! My mother always calls me crazy because I'm always willing to drive anywhere with my kids in the back! I guess 7 hours by car with two kids was crazy, but they did so well! My kids are little troopers, and I'll do anything to avoid the airport! Anyway, we made it and it was so worth it.
We arrived at our hotel and tried to rest since the balloons go up super early. We woke up around 6:30 am the next day, got dressed and bundled up (it was 28 degrees). I thought the girls would not cooperate at all, but they were so excited. The town of Goreme is so small we drove for about 4 minutes, then hiked up a hill and we arrived at sunrise point. The scenery was so beautiful, Beca and I couldn't stop looking at each other yelling, "This is crazy!" Then the cold hit us. :) Some photos!
I mean, come on! The whole town looked like we were on another planet. So unbelievably beautiful. I'm breaking up our trip into a few posts because there's just too many photos! Sammy was a little upset we went without him (the guy has to work), but that just gives us another excuse to go again!
*I found a blog post that was so helpful with the best places to take photos! You can see that here! She really breaks everything down, and it was a great resource the whole trip.
